Christos Christofides, BSc, BSc, PGD, GSR; Founder and Director of OLYMPOS.
Introducing Christos Christofides, the Founder and Director of OLYMPOS.
Christos specialises in muscle and joint injuries and has a very long experience in correcting posture and giving people a pain free living!
At an academic level, Christos has qualified from a Barchelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science and his research project focused on Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction of the knee. During his project, he has spent considerable time on analysing both MRI and ultrasound images of the knee joint. Christos has also qualified from a Barchelor’s degree in Sports Injuries and Rehabilitation where his research project focused on the rehabilitation of the Achilles tendon from chronic pain. During this project, he used the State-of-the-Art strength and conditioning suite at the University of Salford together with a series of advanced human movement laboratories. Thereafter, for his Postgraduate studies he followed a path in the bio-mechanics (meaning the way of movement) of biological materials with part of his Thesis focusing on human DNA. For this he has used one of the best laboratories in the country at the University of Manchester Medical School and the results of his study were presented in the National Biomechanics Day in 2008.
During his academic studies, Christos worked alongside top of range tutors and lecturers and has presented a number of research work into national conference days. He has also worked with elite Physiotherapists and Consultants from backgrounds as high-up as the English Premier League in football and International Sport. Christos has also visited a series of real human anatomy classes which as he says today, helped him significantly to understand the body in great depth!
Christos’s understanding of the human body onset back in his early years as a school boy shadowing his father in various surgical procedures in Theatre!
At a professional level, he has served important medical roles in Professional Sport where he dealt with treating and managing a great number of muscle and joint injuries alongside elite Physiotherapists, Orthopaedic Consultants, Doctors and highly qualified Strength and Fitness coaches.
In Christos’s CV there is also an extensive work in sports injury clinics and established fitness centres across the North of England. During that time, he specialised in treating Back Pain, Sports Injuries and Shoulder problems.
Christos is now full-time at OLYMPOS where he looks after peoples’ day to day injuries and pain with great feedbacks!
He is now also advancing his career by undertaking his fourth University degree this time in the field of Chartered Physiotherapy which will eventually give him his Chartered status upon graduation, something that he always wanted and dreamed of.
Last but certainly not least, he managed to set a solid collaboration with the University of Salford and the University of Bolton for student placements at OLYMPOS. The students gain repeated experience with hands-on real patients and are being trained to solve real life problems.

Tom O’Sullivan, BSc GSR – BSc (HONS) Sports Rehabilitation
We are delighted to introduce the youth of Team OLYMPOS!!!
Tom is fully qualified from the BSc in Sports Rehabilitation and has spent his final student year with Christos learning and developing to the practitioner he always wanted to be.
He pursues an exceptional professionalism at all times. Being an ex-elite Gymnast Tom is very well aware of how it feels to be injured and also what it takes to return to full activity. His continuous learning and his very good level of knowledge are two great add-ons on his fantastic profile.
Tom will not only assess and treat your problem but he will make sure you leave his session by knowing what the problem actually is and what you need to do until it’s fully resolved.
At OLYMPOS, we couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone with muscle-tendon-ligament problems or any sports injuries.
Nicky Platt, CSP HCPC – BSc (HONS) Physiotherapy
Please welcome Nicky in Team OLYMPOS!
Nick is our Chartered Physiotherapist meaning not only he can assess and treat all injuries and pain but his expertise lies beyond the common muscle and tendon problems. At University, Nick has also trained to manage neurological problems which sometimes can cause persistent pain, pins and needles, numbness or weakness in certain areas of your body.
His Chartered status also allows him to treat patients with Medical Insurance Schemes.
His experience spreads from Professional Football all the way to his current full time role within the NHS as a Band 6 Musculo-skeletal Physiotherapist. Nick has also played unlimited hours of semi-professional football where he learnt the ins and outs of injury, pain and recovery.
At OLYMPOS we are extremely proud to have him on our line-up and we can ensure you an ultimate service with fantastic outcomes!
Nicole Chapman, Sports Massage Therapist Level 4
Nicole is a very special individual. Because of her, Christos is now a Clinical Educator for the University of Bolton students!
She initially contacted Christos to shadow him at OLYMPOS which is what got him in touch with the University. Before you know it she received full training from Christos and then became a very valuable member of our Team, showing any student in the country how it is properly done!!!…
Nicole is an already qualified Sports Massage Therapist from her University studies as a future Sports Rehabilitation Therapist. She is currently on her third and final year in Sports Rehabilitation and she only does a few hours every month at OLYMPOS due to her heavy schedule.
If you have tight shoulders, niggles, stiff back or stiff legs then Nicole has all the knowledge and skills to make you walk out like a complete new person!
We are very proud to have her on board!
